Villagarzón project
The Villagarzón project, particularly the Tigres del Alto vereda, is the proud birthplace of the Savimbo project and a community where smallfarmers and veredas have resisted mining and petroleum interests for over two decades.
Climate activism is not just the hobby of the rich and entitled. If you want to see what real, grassroots, Indigenous-led climate activism looks like — come meet the smallfarmers and community leaders in Villagarzón.
Our projects are all focused on preserving or extending intact ecosystems. Ecosystems which generate and maintain abundant food, animal life, and natural capital for the people who live in them, and for the planet. Here’s a data dashboard for the results from the Villagarzón project.
